With fall in full swing, Cannon Beach goes from a buzzy summer coastal town to a quiet haven that locals consider one of their favorite seasons. While you may think all the fun has gone away with summer, that couldn’t be more untrue; in fact, Cannon Beach’s creative side comes even more alive during this time of year. In November, one of the community’s longest-running traditions returns.
The Stormy Weather Arts Festival will celebrate its 39th year from November 6- 8, 2026, bringing more than 50 different events to the town. Think gallery receptions, artist demonstrations, workshops, live music, artist talks, and more!
History of the Stormy Weather Arts Festival
The Stormy Weather Arts Festival dates back to 1987, when local businesses and members of the community were looking for a way to bring people to Cannon Beach during the quieter shoulder season. The town gathered several talented artists to celebrate the town’s growing reputation as an arts destination. What started as a small gathering four decades ago has now turned into a full weekend of arts, music, and community.
If you haven’t been to a Stormy Weather Arts Festival, we highly recommend coming! Cannon Beach art galleries open their doors to artists, locals, and visitors for artist demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and a concert. Enjoy live music from buskers as you stroll along downtown, going from gallery to gallery. This is the perfect way to spend a fall weekend in Cannon Beach.
